Task 2 - Poster: Decisive Moment

[WEEK 5 | 23.09.2021]

Research on movie that I choose. The movie that I choose is <Ford V Ferrari> .

Fig 1.1 <Ford V Ferrari>

Ford v Ferrari (titled Le Mans '66 in some European countries)[4] is a 2019 American sports drama film[5] directed by James Mangold and written by Jez ButterworthJohn-Henry Butterworth, and Jason Keller. The film stars Matt Damon and Christian Bale, with Jon BernthalCaitriona BalfeTracy LettsJosh LucasNoah JupeRemo Girone, and Ray McKinnon in supporting roles.

The plot follows a determined team of American and British engineers and designers, led by automotive designer Carroll Shelby and his British driver, Ken Miles, who are dispatched by Henry Ford II and Lee Iacocca with the mission of building the Ford GT40, a new racing car with the potential to finally defeat the perennially dominant Italian racing team Scuderia Ferrari at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France.

My Idea:

Fig 1.2 First Idea

Fig 1.3 Second Idea

Fig 1.4 Third Idea

For first idea, I want to design like two faction( Ford & Ferrari ) staring each other. For second idea, I want to do for one fraction only ( Ford ) and the three cars are Ford's when they win the race in the movie. For thord idea, I take the most decisive moment in the movie when Ford and Ferrari compete with each other at the race.

For result, I choose the third idea, because the first idea don't have any decisive moment in it and second idea is a spoiler.

* The red word is for animation.

This is the decisive moment for third idea.

Finding the car that use in movie for design the poster.

Fig 2.3 Ferrari 330 P3 1996 (The car that used in < Ford V Ferrari>)

Based on my sketch, I need a sky view of the car. For Ford's, I think that is okay but Ferrari's is such a problem.

*I find a sky view of Ferrari's and Ford's most perfect sky view when near the submission date but I just done the Ferrari's because it is not complicated as Ford's.

And so, I start working on this task.

Fig 2.6 Step One

First, I create the title for the beginning. The 'V' is bigger because I make it on concept of 'VS'. When playing games or watch fighting movie, 'VS' is always bigger than other words (Name est.), so I add in this concept for my 'V'. For blue and red colour represent the main colour of Ford's car ( Blue ) and Ferrari's car ( Red ).

Fig 2.7 Step Two

Second, this piece of green represent the trees and grass besides the race track. For saving times or can say that I'm lazy, I just make it a piece of green .

Fig 2.8 Step Three

Thrid, this is the race track. The length between yellow line is according to the picture of decisive moment.

[WEEK 7 | 07.10.2021] & [WEEK 8 | 14.10.2021]

Fig 3.1 Step Four

For this car, it took me very long time to finish it because it is very complicated. I finished it all according to Fig 2.2 except the right door. Even I found a more correct version (Fig 2.5) but I have left no time for it.

For Ferrari's, I tried but I failed because Fig 2.1 had crop a lot of it, it is not intact. And Fig 2.3, it's more worst. But I found Fig 2.4 in Week 9.

[WEEK 9 | 21.10.2021]

Fig 4.1 Step Five

This is the finale with Ferrari. However, this is not the end. As requirement, we need to do a GIF loop animation.

All layers are copied to Photoshop and set as samrt object. Due to I just want to do an easy animation loop, so I use 'Create Frame Animation'.

Fig 4.2 Step Six

Total frame: 64
No delay
Moving part: Ford's, Ferrari's and yellow lines

This is the result:
