RECAP:
As the first week of learning design principles, our lecturer Dr. Charles explained the needed content in our blog and ask an interesting question: ' What is DESIGN? ' . In my cognition, DESIGN is a paper that full of creator's imagination and creativity. As Dr.Charles described paper as a frame and we need to claim that relationship bewteen frame and objects, so we did an activity as below.

As I thought <HenRy 1.0> is not too beautiful, so I did another.

<HenRy 2.0> is all rely on objects, didn't use pencil mark ( such as <HenRy 1.0> ) anymore.

[Topic 1: Elements and Principles of Design]

These two pictures above help me to understand the elements and pinciples of design.

[Exercise 1: Gestalt Theory and Constrast]

Gestalt Theory:
Research:

My Inspiration:
After the briefing and seen on the lecture when I am having my dinner, I start starring at these shakers and having some ideas. Therefore, I take a picture above and start my gestalt theory exercise.

Step One: Preparation
Tools: Scissors, Glue, Pencil, Eraser, Ruler
Paper: 2 pieces

Step Two: Draw
I drew out the shape of the shaker according to its curve, but I forgot to take a photo...

Step Three: Cut
I cut it out to two.

Step Four: Paint
I paint it into black to create a contrast.

Step Five: Positioned
I positioned the shape to adjust for the visualization and paste it.

Step Six: Finale
This is the final of this exercise.

FEEDBACK (by myself):
I think I'm a clown because everyone done something cool and new and I'm doing some traditional art because I thought my lecturer said do traditional style so I did it but everyone in the class do some amazing stuff. However, my Exercise 2 will be something amazing, so please be excited of it.

Comments

  1. I think you have invested well in this and done it manually. But what is missing is what does this explain or how do we decipher this for gestalt?
