[WEEK 3| 09.09.2021]

Today's lecture is talking about composition.

Types of Shots / Compositions:
          1. Establishing
          2. Bird's Eyeview
          3. "Framing"
          4. Medium Shot
          5. Close-up
          6. Worm's Eyeview
Composition Rule 1:
A balanced distribution of POSITIVE VS NEGATIVE spaces
  • find a balance of positives & negatives
  • visual hieractty
  • mood
  • rhythm/ movement
  • visual elements that tell a story

After the lecture, Miss Jennifer is starting to teach us some illustrator skill for our exercise. The skill is about to add some shadows on our character.

The skill is noted as:
  • gradient
  • copy the object and make it darker
For today's practical, we are required to upgrade our character with shadows and also do a card game's card with our character.
The result is shown as below:

Fig 3.1 [The Botty] with shadows

Fig 3.2 Card Game Deisgn

My card design is referring to Pokemon Trading Card Game(PTCG) VMax card.

The weakness, resistance and retreat concept of my card is utilize the concept of PTCG. The skill also similar to PTCG's.

Also, as a card, we need some design on the back.

Fig 3.4 Card Game Design - Back

My theme of the card game is BOT WAR, so the back is designed to show it out. And because it is a 'war', so my logo is <anti-love>, the meaning is no peace and love, just like what the 'war' means.

[WEEK 4| 16.09.2021]

Today's lecture is continuation of composition, the PERSPECTIVE.

Perspective is:
  • to create depth
  • an illusuion
  • an representation of objects
    • from a 2D surface to create a 3D optical illusion

So, today we are gonna to do a background for our card game.

Fig 4.1 Card Game Design with Background

My concept of the background is that the war had destroyed thw world until oneplace have many different terrain. As shown, the background have red sand dessert, original dessert and volcano that started to explode.

Not like before, the background changed from 2D to 3D, so the shadow having some changes.
